Joint Venture Petroboscán

inepetrol has been a key partner in the development of the Boscán field since its inception

Joint venture Petroboscán

In 1995, Inepetrol acquired a minority stake, in association with Chevron, in the Boscán Operating Agreement. The field’s initial production was 83,000 barrels per day (BPD) and was subsequently increased to 115,000 BPD, thanks to an investment of more than US$300 million.

In 2005, as part of the migration process to mixed companies promoted by the National Executive of Venezuela, Petroboscán was created. The company has the participation of the Venezuelan Petroleum Corporation (CVP) with 60%, Chevron with 39.20%, and INEMAKA Exploración & Production Company LTD (Inepetrol) with 0.8%.

The current development plan for the Boscán field is under the operation and supervision of Chevron de Venezuela.

Oil and Gas
The proven reserves of the Boscán field are estimated at 1.6 billion barrels of heavy crude oil with an API gravity of 10°.
Joint Venture
Chevron de Venezuela acts as operator and marketer of the mixed company under an agreement established between the Venezuelan State and the B partners.
Development Plan
Drain the remaining proven reserves of the Boscán field, optimizing the existing infrastructure underground and on the surface. Studies are carried out to identify new areas and the incorporation of new reserves, and we are working to achieve leadership in Venezuela in terms of operational excellence.
